A look at Pacific Shipyards International's current and recently completed projects

Pacific Shipyards International, a family-owned business in Hawaii since 1944, specializes in maritime repairs, maintenance, and conversion. The shipyard is located at Pier 24 of Honolulu Harbor and has two floating dry docks.

PSI announced on April 4 that it had dry docked the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Kimball. This was the first dry docking maintenance period for the ship since its launch in 2016. PSI announced that the company would paint the vessel and complete shaft alignments, bearing inspections, steering systems service, multiple structural changes, and a complex overhaul of valves.

Iain Wood said in a PSI statement that Pacific Marine and PSI had made the biggest investment in company history five years earlier: a floating dry dock of 444 feet. PSI invested in a new dry dock for Hawaii's commercial maritime and DOD community. We designed our dry docks and docking towers in anticipation of the National Security Cutter arriving in Hawaii. It is a great feeling to see the ship finally in the dry dock. The Kimball, and its crew, are essential in maintaining a free and independent Indo-Pacific. PSI is proud of its direct support of this vision of maintaining the "Freedom of the Seas" and protecting the freedom of our country and that of our trusted allies.

The company stated that 'The USCGC Kimball is one of the two cutters based in Honolulu and the seventh Legend class cutter. Each vessel measures 418 feet and costs $670 millions.

In 2022, PSI dry docked the motor yacht Lonian. It was a 285 foot super-yacht, built by Feadship, owned by an American entrepreneur, and included maintenance of various mechanical systems as well as complete underwater hull conservation.

PSI also dry-docked in 2022 the 80-year old World War II USS Bowfin sub... PSI cleaned and repaired years of underwater growth, and added a fresh paint job. PSI stated that the submarine was one of the best-preserved Balao class submarines in existence today.

A spokesperson for PSI stated that the most notable project for Hawaii was the completion and early completion of the USS Daniel Inouye post shakedown availability, which we completed in the fall. The spokesperson said that the contract totaled over $50 million.
