Ares Management Corp. provides investment management and consulting services. It is divided into three segments: Credit Group Private Equity Group and Real Estate Group. Credit Group offers credit strategies in both liquid and illiquid markets, such as syndicated loans, high-yield bonds, special situations and asset-backed investments, and U.S. direct lending and European direct loaning. The Credit Group offers solutions to traditional fixed income investors who want to gain access to the high yield bond and syndicated loan markets, and take advantage of opportunities in traded corporate credit. Investors can also access directly originated fixed rate and floating-rate credit assets, and take advantage of illiquidity premiums in the entire credit spectrum. Private Equity Group manages investments with shared control in corporate private equity fund. The Real Estate Group provides mortgage loans and equity capital for borrowers, real estate developers, and property owners. Michael J. Arougheti founded the company in 1997 with David B. Kaplan and John H. Kissick. Antony P. Ressler and Bennett Rosenthal are also involved.
