Brinker, McKechan honored by Granite City Rotary

The Granite City Rotary Club has selected Abigail Brinker, a junior at Granite City High School, and Evan McKechan as its Students of the month for May.

GRANITE CITY: Abigail Brinker, a junior at Granite City High School, and Evan McKechan were chosen as the Granite City Rotary Club's Students of the Month in May.

Brinker is the daughter of Carolyn Ryterski. She has been a three-year girl's golf team member, twice winner of Most Improved Golfer Award, All-Warrior Award, member of Varsity Club, Secondary Honors and three-year honor roll.

McKechan is the son of Mark McKechan and a member in the Hobby and Science Club.

Teachers nominated students, who were then chosen based on academic achievements, civic and extracurricular honors and awards as well as membership in organizations and leadership.

Each honoree receives a framed gift certificate and a certificate of recognition at the Granite Club Rotary Meeting on May 16th.
