Twitter is not retiring its name or the word "tweets," despite rebranding the app to "Twitter from Twitter."
Elon Musk created confusion on social media with a simple change in his name.
Musk's decision to rebrand Twitter as X last month has left many people confused. This is the first time a major social media application has changed its name, and that too while still having tens or even hundreds of millions of users.
Snapchat changed its corporate name to Meta in 2021, but left the name of its flagship social network unchanged. Facebook's parent company changed to Meta in 2021. The name of the social network remained unchanged.
