G7 Vows to Intensify Sanctions on Russia Over War in Ukraine

. The Group of Seven foreign ministers vowed to intensify sanctions against Russia over its war in Ukraine as they wrapped up their meeting hosted by Japan on Tuesday.

KARUIZAWA (Japan) (AP), Tuesday, the Group of Seven Foreign Ministers concluded their meeting in Japan by pledging to increase sanctions against Russia for its war in Ukraine.

In a communiqué released Tuesday, the G-7 Ministers stated that they were "committed to intensifying sanctions and coordinating them fully against Russia".

They said that 'war crimes and atrocities, such as Russia's attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure for civilians' cannot be ignored. They also agreed to continue providing Ukraine with their fullest support.

China, Taiwan, and the cooperation with countries in the Global South were also key topics at the G-7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting.
