JPMorgan Targeted by Republican States Over Accusations of Religious Bias

WASHINGTON -- JPMorgan Chase is the focus of a campaign launched by Republican officials in states to expose what they perceive as discrimination against religion in the bank’s business practices.

In a letter sent to JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon this month, 19 Republican state attorneys general accused the nation's biggest bank of a "pattern of discrimination" and of refusing banking services to customers based on their political or religious affiliations. In March, fourteen Republican state treasurers sent a letter similar to this one, accusing Mr. Dimon of the same.
