Hong Kong’s flag carrier, Cathay Pacific, has canceled multiple flights due to engine problems with its entire Airbus A350 fleet. The issue was discovered after an engine component failure on a long-haul flight from Hong Kong to Zurich. Cathay Pacific found similar engine components that need replacement after inspecting its 48-plane fleet. The airline did not disclose the nature of the engine issue but has secured spare parts and initiated repair work. As a result, 24 flights have been canceled pending inspection and repairs. This incident follows safety issues faced by rival plane maker Boeing.
