Delta Air Lines stated that the recent CrowdStrike outage and subsequent flight cancellations resulted in an estimated cost of $550 million. The financial impact includes a $380 million decline in revenue for the current quarter, primarily due to refunded flights and customer compensation. Additionally, the outage caused an expense of $170 million related to operational recovery. As a result of the cancellations, Delta’s fuel bill is expected to decrease by $50 million. The airline reaffirmed its intention to pursue legal action against CrowdStrike and Microsoft.
