The launch of Boeing’s 777X aircraft has encountered another problem, forcing the company to pause testing. Boeing discovered issues in a structural component during a test flight. The component that didn’t perform as designed is being replaced. The 777X was supposed to enter service in 2020 but has faced delays and cost overruns. Another stumbling block could further delay its revised 2025 launch date. The 777X is intended to be the largest and most efficient twin-engine jet. Boeing is already facing safety concerns following a mid-air blowout of one of its door plugs on a 737 Max flight. These problems have led to federal investigations and delays in jet deliveries. Boeing’s financial performance has also suffered, with shares down nearly 30% for the year.
