A licensing agreement between Universal Music Group (UMG) and TikTok has ended a feud that resulted in UMG pulling its music from the platform. As part of the deal, artists such as Ariana Grande, Adele, and Rihanna will be returning to TikTok, joining Taylor Swift. Within one to two weeks, TikTok’s users will be able to use music by UMG artists in their videos. The agreement aims to deliver improved remuneration for UMG’s songwriters and artists and includes integrated ticketing capabilities and e-commerce features. The deal is expected to significantly increase UMG’s revenue from TikTok.
